Fear o’ Fear – let me not lose

Don’t let the fear of failure keep you from achieving greatness!

fear
ˈfir/
noun
noun: fear; plural noun: fears
1.an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

It is simply an emotion, it is not a wall of concrete that you will be unable to break down; or a lion that will devour you if you cross its path.
Emotions – they come and they go, but if you do not learn to control them, then you are giving them power to control you. If you do not fight the fear of getting hurt, of having your pride slightly injured, of failing once in order to excel later, then you have no chance of living the life you know you deserve.
There is so much that you can accomplish in your life, so much potential that you have not even begun to explore; but when you just sit and wait for things to happen because you’re afraid that if you make the first move you might lose and look like a fool, then there is no chance you will ever discover just how amazing you could possibly be. Why would you not take a risk at losing so that you can learn and make it a win later? If you never try, then how could you possibly know if it was meant to happen? If you never take a chance at losing, how could you know if you might have won?
Stop living in one place for so long, never leaving your comfort zone to discover all the other great things the world has to offer. You’ve been living in one town all these years, haven’t even made it to the next city because you’re scared, even though you’re so miserable and unsatisfied. Have the courage to step out of that comfort zone and go see the world. Find that place where both your heart, body and mind can be satisfied; where peace of mind and soul means strength and pure happiness.
We can’t have everything we want in life, but at least we can do what is possible to get what the world will be willing to offer. You will never know what you deserve, what you can and cannot have unless you step away from the fear that holds you back and go for it.
Do not listen to what others have to say, what they think you can and cannot do – that is their own fear speaking, holding you back. Be strong enough to step away from the fears of others that would hold you back from your own greatness.
Be your own Voice of Encouragement! Be your own Judge of what you can and cannot do! But never let yourself bring YOU down!

Nothingness

How does one live without their heart?

When you have lost it, what is there that keeps you going? How do you breathe? Are you even alive anymore? When all you feel is hollowness, an emptiness so big it’s like an abyss?

Do you keep breathing? When you wake up everyday and know that the inside of your chest is a hollow bottom? The hole so deep there’s no end?  You keep that smile on your face and let everyone think you got it all under control when inside it’s like a raging storm?

How do you live when you know that your heart is lost? Do you still live or are you just going through the motions like an animal? With no purpose or destination?

When the storm rages on and you plaster a smile on your face so they don’t see your weakness, your fear running so deep it’s a pit of blackness; is that the part you are living for?

Love is Strength

Most people tend to think that love is weakness; that the moment you decide to open yourself to someone, then we are vulnerable. And in truth, that is what happens. We become vulnerable, easily hurt and broken, but it doesn’t mean it’s weakness.

Love is what makes us strong, it is what makes us want to fight to become a better us, to make a change and a difference, maybe to our own lives or to someone else’s. Love is the reason any of us live to see another day, it gives us purpose.

You watch a movie and see this scene where a girl miraculously kisses a guy who was about to die but suddenly lives and you all think “aah, what a soppy scene, that’s not real”, but in truth, that one kiss is what gave him the will to fight for life, to fight for more time with the one person who gives them a purpose to live. They “miraculously” come back to life, not because it’s just a movie, but because he had found a reason to stay alive – the movie just wants you believe that love is strong enough to make a miracle happen, to give life.

Love is the strongest emotion. Those who are lucky enough to not fear it get to know just how strong it can make them. Love pushes us to the limits we never knew we could go, it makes us believers of Hope, it makes us Fighters. Those unfortunate enough to think it’s weakness, can never truly understand how much more they could be.

How can something that makes you want to fight, to live, to conquer, to be remembered, to be seen, be considered as weakness? How can something that gives you purpose in life, a reason to be and exist, be weakness? Fear is weakness, lack of hope is weakness, being unable to see past the smaller picture is weakness – but Love will never be weakness.

If you can love, with all your heart and your being, you will be the strongest person alive. Love without fear and no barriers, and you will know what real strength really feels like.

The Power of Fear

The Power of Fear

Have you ever watched “Inside Out”? Most of you will probably say no, mostly because it’s a cartoon. But I’ve watched that movie at least five times and each time I’ve learned something different.

The first time I watched it, it was mostly just for laughs. I’d seen the trailer and felt that it would be a great movie to laugh at. The second time I watched it was because I wanted to relax my mind and forget about the difficulties of life.

But by the time I watched it a third time, I realized something more – The voices in the head. We all have these little voices in our head that always tells us what to do, but most of us ignore them. If you have seen “Inside Out” you would remember the part where Riley starts losing her Core Memories-her personality, the things that made her who she was. When “Joy” got sucked out of HQ, Riley was no longer happy, Anger, Disgust and Fear took over. From Anger she lashed out at her parents, with Fear she run away from home and out of Disgust she stopped caring about the things that mattered to her anymore.

Sometimes it’s not that we do not want to be happy, but there is that part of us that leaves us and other emotions take over us that overwhelm everything else we could be feeling. The biggest one of all is usually fear. We are so afraid of the outcome, of how it will affect us that we do not take any chances. The fear we have inside us becomes so overwhelming that we end up losing more by not doing

inside-out-2

Let the voices inside you be your guide. Sometimes they are not so bad if you listen carefully. It’s ok to be afraid, or get angry or annoyed, and certainly to be sad because it’s only through these that you find real Joy.

anything.

Even so, there are certain things that we lose through life, we move, we change friends, meet new people, start over. This could be scary and sad. And you know what, it’s okay to be sad, it’s okay to cry a little, because sometimes once you’re able to cry it out, you’re able to let go and move on – sometimes, it’s okay to let Sadness take over before we can have Joy again.

The voices inside our head are very important to us. They are like a small guidebook inside us that tells us this is wrong, this is right, don’t go this way, don’t say this. But the moment we stop listening to these little voices is when our world begins to fall into pieces and we lose ourselves in the process.

I see them all

I saw the way you

looked at me

like I was some kind

of a lost cause

a thing in desperate need

of rescue

I saw the way you were

whispering

Like the things you said

were too gruesome

for me to hear

I see the way you avoid me

like an infectious disease

you pas so far

away from me

so as to not get infected

I can see them all

I see them all

I understand them all

Scary, Terrifying, Absolutely

There is this crazy, scary, terrifying thing called Love.
It comes out of nowhere.
Takes a hold of you without hesitation
Throws you against the wall and holds you there
It has no warning
And definitely no Mercy.
It does not choose who is the victim
You’ll never see it coming,
It’s not that easy.

Somehow it has a way of just happening,
and no matter how hard you try to fight it.
The weird part is that the harder you fight,
the more it takes a hold of you.
It will take you up and then bring you down just as fast,
and you might have thought the up was amazing
but oh,
you cannot begin to fathom how completely horrifying the down is

You may want to run,
Yet even the other end of the world will not be able to save you
You might wanna rip out your own heart
Just to make the suffering go away
But the reality remains,
The more you fight it,
The deeper you fall
until at some point you realize
There is nothing left to fight

For Life or Death

I will start by saying that if you are for the airstrikes being launched against Syria then you might feel offended by what I am going to write – but I am NOT going to apologize for it because these are my views and my blog dictates the freedom of speech.

Henceforth, I was watching a parliament discussion earlier today and it just quite frankly struck me as completely absurd that these people are sitting somewhere out there, in their safe chairs and contemplating whether or not to bomb another country – I mean, seriously? This is another people’s country you are talking about – not yours, not your people or anything, but A TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY FOREIGN COUNTRY. There is no one there of that country who can speak for or against the airstrikes. So how exactly do you just launch into a discussion of whether or not to start killing other people?

Leave alone the fact that it’s a completely different country, but there are also innocent people – millions of them as a matter of fact, and you are just going to bomb  them.

I’m not saying that the terrorists should be left to walk the streets and keep killing – not at all, but you cant just go and start bombing the whole country for the hope – minimal hope at that – that you will kill them in the process.

Do you even know where exactly these terrorists are located? Have you pinpointed their location and are sure where you will drop these bombs will hit their mark? What if you’re wrong? What if you are killing more innocent people than terrorists? Are you willing to live with that on your conscience? And if you are, does it make it alright to just kill? How does that make you any different from those terrorists then? Because you have the power to do it without hiding? Because no one will try to bomb you in your bed? Because you are living off somewhere safe and aren’t even experiencing the horrors of the bombings?

You tell me – is this what the world is going back to? To bombs and mass murder? Because quite frankly, no matter how y’all try to explain these bombings and no matter how much you sit down and talk about it and vote on them – at the end of the day – it’s quite simply MURDER!
